10 000 000 €uros

2006-10-00-human-skills-2.jpgIn October 2006, a new European project was launched (FP6-2005-IST5-IP35005) – SKILLS deals with the acquisition, storing and transfer of human skill by means of multimodal interfaces, Robotics and Virtual Environments technologies. The consortium involves 15 partners from all over Europe, academic and industrial institutions. The SKILLS kick off meeting was held on October 2, 2006, in Pisa, Italy, with all partners, launching a series of scientific and technological meetings. The first "research activity" meeting was held in Bilbao on November 9-10, 2006. The first "demonstration activity" meeting was held in Oberpfaffenofen, Germany, on December 11-12, 2006.

For the first time in European history, a large amount of resources have been given to a pluridisciplinary consortium doing fundamental and applied research in human movement, including sport & entertainment, surgery & rehabilitation, and manufacturing.

Enactive / 06

Enactive / 06, the third international conference on enactive interfaces, was held in Montpellier (France), November 21-22, 2006 (chairs: B. Bardy & D. Mottet, co-chairs: Teresa Gutteriez, Roberto Casati, Carsten Preusche). Enactive / 06 was promoted by the ENACTIVE european network of excellence (6th FP).

ENACTIVE / 06  highlighted convergences between the concept of Enaction and the sciences of complexity. Biological, cognitive, perceptual or technological systems are complex dynamical systems exhibiting (in)stability properties that are consequential for the agent-environment interaction. The conference provided new insights, through the prism of ENACTIVE COMPLEXITY, about human interaction with multimodal interfaces.

Proceedings  of Enactive / 06  and conference pictures now on line
